“I love that I can go in and see that they not only completed the module, but which elements of the module they completed, and how much time they spent...This definitely encourages students to complete the pre-work and attend the class.”

“We know that students don’t really like to read. And we needed a way for them to do the required prep work in a format they would be excited to use.” Caity emphasizes that students really like the pre-quiz, the knowledge check, and the short video, which is only 5-6 minutes, for each module. “The Davis Advantage modules give students the nitty gritty information they need in a format that they like. They much prefer this over having to read the entire chapter in the book.” Student feedback has been really good. “Students feel like these Davis Advantage modules are helping them come to class more prepared.” She has noticed an improvement in student retention. “I can see that they are retaining their knowledge of pathophysiology. We’ve eliminated it from our lectures, but we don’t feel the students are missing that content because they are getting it in the Davis Advantage activities.” The F.A. Davis experience: “Since I’ve been at Watts, we have worked with all of the publishers, but F.A. Davis has been the best. Our educational sales consultant is responsive, gets us the materials we need, and works with us to offer our students fair pricing.” Caity also praises the overall quality of the F.A. Davis materials. “I really like the way the textbooks are laid out; they are structured in a way that makes it easy for students to identify and process the important material, even if they aren’t going to read the entire chapter.” She has also been pleased with the Davis Advantage online resources. “I like the interactive activities and the quizzes, but the clinical judgment activities really stand out. We are being tasked with integrating more clinical judgment activities in the classroom and our time to build these from scratch is limited.
