They can occur at any age, but many occur after years of smoking or exposure to partic- ulate matter, gases, or other noxious chemicals at workplaces. In this section, you learn terms for common and some rare respiratory diseases, disorders, and conditions. Use the pronunciation guide and say the terms aloud while you read them.
