Dr. Hedgpeth has been happy with the F.A. Davis books and resources, using them exclusively since 2012 with the exception of 2 years when they moved to another publisher. “However, the cost with this publisher became prohibitive, so we switched back to Davis and we are very happy that we did,” Dr. Hedgpeth notes that NCELX pass rates with the F.A. Davis books have been above the national benchmark since the program launched in 2012. In fact, they are considering F.A. Davis books in their ADN program as they look to make product changes there. Students also like the materials. “Every semester, I ask my students if there is anything we need to change about the resources we are using. I always get really positive feedback; students tell me ‘This is exactly what I need.’” Dr. Hedgpeth notes that students especially like the Davis Advantage resources. “They have found them so helpful. They like the short activities and videos, and the fact that they can complete them ahead of the lecture, so they have an overview and understanding of the concept before coming to class.” The F.A. From the student orientation during the first course, to ensuring students and faculty have all of the codes to get started with the online materials, I know that we will have everything we need to hit the ground running.” Dr. Hedgpeth also praises the quality of the products and the ease with which she has been able to transition to new editions through her many years of using F.A.
